Why not pick up the phone instead of a hammer and call the service department of you dealer and get it looked at under warranty?

You may find that your CDL is partially engaged which could lead to wind-up if driven on the road. This can happen if the linkages from the lever aren't adjusted properly.

Either take it to someone who knows and can have a look or crawl underneath with a large screwdriver and find where the linkage meets the gearbox and try levering the activating rod to the disengaged position. If it moves and your light stops flickering then that's the problem. It can be very subtle but you don't want to drive too much on the road if your CDL is engaged, can cause damage.

Well, they never got around to mine - not enough time excuse. Will have to make another appointment
The switch is on top of transfer case. Number 27 in diagram.
Will try and have a look myself.

Finally got it in to be fixed.
Was the switch. They had to get one in overnight from Sydney.
All OK now.
