Mirror hinges

Does anybody know where I can find a pair of those 2a door hinges with the hole for mounting a mirror arm?

I think they were used for some military vehicles and forward controls.

RogerThey were the standard part on both the SIIA and SIIB forward control. very hard to find though.

Not a direct reply, but I have modified a LH door hinge to fit a mirror to it.

I can get you both new ( but there not cheap ), and yes left handside theres more about, for some very strange reason.

Theres also this alternative that we are adding to our Specialist series parts...

The Series 3 hinges are identical to the 110/Defender hinges, except the Defender top front door ones have two holes for the mirror to attach. You can either buy a pair of Defender top front door hinges and fit defender mirrors, or simply drill the two holes in your hinges to allow the fitting of Defender mirrors (which is what the mirrors in the picture are).

In the UK many S3s (esp. the later ones) had a different mirror arm unit that mounted to the sides of the top hinges using the two existing door screws. This was made by Britax and is easily found in most of the UK specialist parts catalogues - e.g. Craddocks, Paddock etc.

It looks a lot neater in my (modest) opinion than the later Defender units which sit on top of the hinges. Really comes down to how close to original you want your Series 3 to look. If it doesn't matter, go for the Defender unit.
