Check your transmission inhibitor (XYZ) switch. There is a link in the Good Oil section of this forum for more info.

Also check for oil at your engine ECU.

As Simon said, XYZ switch, oil in the harness, and then check all of the plugs for all of your ECU's to make sure none have worked their way loose.

Don't forget the ones on the passenger side, on the side wall, hidden behind the cardboard kick panel.

Here you can find what I think is your problem in this thread.
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-2/153316-d2-auto-thump-into-reverse-ms-flashing.html
I have more pictures if you need. cables rub and can short out on top.
contact is the most likely cause of the problem moisture in the connector causing these problems , I believe that one should protect the cables as a preventive measure if it is not already a problem as it can be. a good site that explains it good is www.discovery2.co.uk (http://www.discovery2.co.uk/)

Other possibility is the throttle potentiometer (Pedal assembly) this will usually illuminate the check engine lamp and result in no throttle activity at all, BUT it WILL register a driver demand error code, so possibly I am barking up the wrong tree here.

I'm sure you don't scream your conversations at the top of your lungs, so do us all a favor and quit with the ALL CAPS.

All caps are difficult to read and the mark of an ill mannered and ignorant poster. I'm sure you don't want to be tarred with that brush.
