Land Rover Defender Yachting Edition | Supercharged (http://supercharged.fr/2010/12/land-rover-defender-90-yachting-edition-by-startech.html)

Latest collaboration between Land Rover and the German tuner Startech presented at the Essen Motorshow, this beautiful Land Rover Defender 90 Yachting Edition directly inspired by the world of sailing. Offered in a beautiful white livery equipped with SVX grille and aluminum wheels in 16 inch floor 275/65 R 16, its interior is more that really catches the attention. Besides blue leather Recaro seats look great, as well as many other interior trim, there is a unique flooring teak yacht so that seems straight out of a shipyard. Class and very exclusive, discover all the details of this little gem!

for second I thought they would have changed nothing, just the way it will leak will have you thinking your on a boat.

I like it, particularly the colour coded rear cross member. Revers camera also looks smart. In two minds over the white stitching though.

Oooh I want a reversing camera in mine...

Not too sure how I feel about the colours used in this one.. the white back to the seats just made me cringe thinking about keeping them clean.. same with the leather covered dash.. The floor panelling is interesting..

What a load of toss, why buy a defender with an interior like that? Oh yeah it's a Puma it won't leave the dirt

Teaks a great idea. Pull out the seats, in with the hose & out with the mud/sand.

Settle there dobbo, it's only marketing. Do you think the gentry at yaught club have any desire to take it further than the boat ramp, that's even if LR can persuade them to trade in the RR.

Still I'd give hats off and a big wave to a keen buyer driving it off road somewhere. You know us pathetic Tdci drivers do get out and about. Out of the 6 or 7 defenders I spotted on a recent inland Aus trip, 2xTd5's, the rest were Tdci's. Not one of the older faithfuls to be seen. Perhaps just bad timing.

Being a yachting edition at least you wouldn't need a snorkel to cross any rivers as you'd just sail across.

If that's the case, maybe the teak is for bouyancy :).

My Puma spends about 80% off bitumen - as part of my job as a soil surveyor plus Vic High Country, Googs Track, West Coast (all beach and dune), about every 4WD track in the Flinders, cross country across to Lake Torrens then out through Andamooka, and heaps more - thats just the first 2.5 years..... lots more to come, Simpson this year and back to the Flinders.... so not all Pumas not leaving the 'dirt' err tar.....

As I posted and quote again Puma's won't leave the dirt, they're the ultimate offroader, you guys keep telling me.

I dont like the interior but agree that the review camera style/mount and colour coded crossmember/bumpers are decent ideas.

I may get a similar camera. This one is cheap enough for an experiment - looks like the case can be unscrewed/removed so that you can spray cover to match the car.

Problem is I tend to get carried away with these things... soooo may as well add a HUD display and a forward facing night vision camera for those black ops missions ... :ninja: ...

Why does anyone need a reversing camera in a Defender 90? Those big old door mirrors do the job and don't require any fancy technology.

Imagine grinding sand into that timber floor, or red dust in that white stitching.... beautiful car, clearly not meant for bush work. Bob

It's a lovely thing. Pitty it's not a soft top I could then sit on the rear deck with a cold beer.

As a up market vehcile for this setting it's ideal, whats wrong with having a blinded defender.

Rear camera is a great idea, but would be better on a 130 barge.
