Hi, Since I bought my 2006 110 last year the air from the aircon only appears to come out of the 2 vents on the passenger side. Even on full bore it is only a trickle on the drivers side.
Last time it had a service I mentioned it to the mechanic. When I picked it up a couple of days later I asked him about it and he said it was because the bit near the gearstick narrows so less cold air gets across.
Frankly I thought this sounded like complete b******s, and proved this by trying 2 of my friends A/C in there Defenders, one a 2002 110 the other a 2003 130.In both of these the air came through just as strong on both sides.
So obviously I have some kind of blockage. Has anyone else had this?
Do I need to pull half the dashboard and aircon out to get to the internal piping?
Also, when I do have the aircon on for a while I seem to end up with a small puddle on the passenger side floor.
I have tried doing a search on a number of forums but have turned up little info so any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
I am happy driving around most of the time with the window down, but when the wife is in the car or I am doing a 100 clicks on the freeway I have to have the A/C on, I don't fancy another summer with half the A/C working:Thump:
