Why is everything Id like to buy on the wrong side of Melbourne lol
When I was cabinet hunting, some great deals on the lower eastern side
When I was kitchen table hunting, some lovely settings around the lower easter suburbs
When I was horse hunting, all the good deals way down south
And now Im outdoor setting hunting, some lovely and unique well priced settings again, all on the wrong side of Melb
(me being chicken **** and wont drive through it)

when i was a lad going to school a woman who lived on the outer northside of brisbane was so terrified of driving thru the city center of brisbane she took a 2 hour drive taking only right hand turns (she couldnt see left very well) to drop her two kids off at school at rosalie..
no idea how long it would take her to get home or how long she was there before she had to set off on the right hand only trip to pick them up...
i kid you not...

right.. hand.. turns.. wow, the worst way to go.
The two ford shoppings were the wrong side too, then there was the tas trip (though in was ok, early morning, just out on the homeward journey was fun)
It's funny but getting out of sydney with the disco didn't bother me near so much a anything to do with Melbourne.
ah well will continue to window shop!

It's those dicky right turns from the left lane in the city that confuses people.
My motto when driving anywhere is "When in Rome drive as Roman do". Just go with the flow and imitate the way locals drive and you'll be right.:)

Geez, what are you complaining about? Everything I want is either on the other side of the country, or the other side of the world, or is in a bikini and won't talk to me!

God, what is the problem. Nowhere in Victoria other than Mildura is more than a mornings drive from Melbourne. From Brisbane, 3 1/2 hours only gets you to Goondiwindi, Chinchilla, or Maryborough.

But I hate driving with one hand on the horn and a raised finger out the window, that's why I avoid Melbourne.

Have faith, just go with your GPS and then you have something to blame when it all ends up in a no through road.

I'm in central vic, I have no issue distance its insane freeways with lane and lanes of traffic I'm not fond of
Had to laugh about the GPS, when I picked up my Display cabinet (multi glass panes) the darn gps wench tried to send me home via a road that went down the side of a steep hill and wasn't even in existance any more

SWMBO has a similar problem with driving in Melbourne. She wanted to visit her parents in Dingley (for those outside the area our farm is 120ks north west of Melbourne and Dingley is in SE suburbs). I dropped her off over a week ago. She keeps ringing but I worked out how to screen my calls.
Soon I will have to consider picking her up - or learn how to use the washing machine.:)

I travel out that direction occasionally. If some organisational ability was found, I could drop you off at Southland or some other eastern burbs shopping centre (Ikea perhaps) for a few hours whilst I go on the hunt for some Landy or Merc bits.
Where are you wanting to partake in retail therapy?

My mother in law must work with the same woman, or there are 2 in Brisbane! This woman plans every journey meticulously so she only has to turn one way [I though left but maybe it was right]. The story she told my MIL was that she once had an accident when turning the other way.
