Some where some time ago I saw in a post a picture of a modification to the R380 GB Clutch Fork, it had an extra bit welded on to it I think to strengthen it.
Can some one direct me to the post please.

Peter, I don't have a pic handy, but you weld a strap across the back of the pivot point.
It stops the pivot fatigue cracking and punching through the fork.

Does anyone know why you can't use the V8 fork which is alloy unstead of the pressed metal one?

As with a lot of LR things - the V8 fork design is subtly different and so far no one has ( afaik) posted that it's possible or what mods have to be made. However, note that adding that bit of metal across the back of the tdi fork makes it a never-worry-about-it-again part. It was not that there was too much wear, but too much flexing ( think like cracks in wings). If the people who sell you a new one can't do the mod, it's just welded over the center of the pivot hole on the reverse.

Hi Peter, the clutch fork in my TD5 is not pressed metal but some form of casting, if I recall correctly. Someone may know if that style would fit a TDI 300 . It looked very heavy duty to me. Cheers, Ross.

Here's one I did a couple of years ago. It's not as neat as Langy's but it's in there doing the job.
