300tdi on gas towing.

Just a quick question to all the members running gas on there TDI motors.
Driving around town and a little high way work I use about 9.1L / 100kms of diesel and about 2.7L / 100kms of gas and I loving it.
Be the other day I was towing a car on a heavy dual axle tralier for a friend over a 1000km trip and I done 8.5L / 100kms of diesel and 5L / 100kms of gas and I had not changed the mixtures and thought it sounded a little high. I'm sure it's from the extra load but I wanted to know if others have had the same experience.
I drove it very steady and it towed like a champ.

Hello again.
Had a chance to look over the disco and I found the reason the gas usage went up and the diesel usage went down. I had blown the pressure hose that go's from the turbo to the fuel pump to change the diesel rate of feed when you come on boost.
Since there was no more diesel going in to the motor as I revved the engine it was using more gas to compensate for the lack of diesel.
Fixed the line and the problem.
Just wanted to share incase anyone ever has the same problem

Wondering if I can catch up to discuss fors and against of instaling gas injection? I'm in Newy as well and drive a gold colour 98 tdi auto Disco 1. Kinda looks like your picture???

Sorry for the late reply. I have been off line for awhile with it being the silly season I have been flat out.
Yea sure I would be happy to have a chat with you about it.
I think it is worth Putting gas on it. The difference it made to my 300tdi was incredible. I don't think there is much of a saving on the cost of running the disco, for me it's no extra to run it on gas but makes it heaps better to tow with it.
