Defender ECU Puma MY10 loom extension

Hi every one got a question can any one point me in the right direction ! I,m wanting to move my ECU to under my Cubby box .
I have had the ECU cut out a few times near ATM's and at BP fuel stations ! The dealer gave me a great fix ! Push it 10 to 15 mts from where it is being effected . What a great under warranty fix I didnt see it detailed in their glossy marketing gear. I think if I move it there and Shield it in a lead sheet and make it water proof it might fix it . I know there is a TD5 extension loom but no one can tell me of a person that has move it and or a company that sells a extension for a Puma . Oh and before you go crazy no I,m not going to down grade to an old long in the tooth reliable TD5 . And I,m not a Domesdayer not yet ! Thank you in advance

But, the ECU is in the engine bay right behind the No 4 cylinder.

Thanks for that yeah I,ve sent him an email will be getting one . But I still want to move the ECU into that box or up under my driver seat . So I,ll need a extension loom of some sort ??

That's will a be big job....keep us updated on your progress, I'm sure there be several TDCI owners who will keen to do the same, depending how your's turns out.

Thanks for that I,ve already taken the saw to the car a few times already . I,ve had a look and Ford tend to put the Puma ECU's under the foot area inside the cab . It quite obvious that the Brits don't test the Puma,s in a Croc infested river . It would be a good look a guy in a white lab coat and a clip board swimming from a croc . Come think of it now I know why they called it a Puma ! Little cats hate water !

To be honest I don't know how much benifit you would gain by moving the ECU, but I do know it will be a huge task.

I have had mine up the Cape York a couple of months ago and did many water crossings. Nolan's was well over the bonnet as was the ford before Nolan's.

All that I have done as far as improving wading depth goes is

1/ extend the rear diff and fuel tank breathers.

2/ replace factory ducting to the air box with 90mm flexi hose.

3/ Safari snorkel with custom made adaptor to attach directly on to the flexi hose.

Next on the list will be replace air box with custom made unit or work out how to seal the lid properly.

If you get water over the ECU, there will lots of other components that also will be under water long before it. Including the throttle position sensor.

Thanks for that I have done the snorkel , breathers, someone is sending me a mod leaving the ECU in place and then protecting the Abs , ECU and traction control module with a water tight box I,ll post the photos when they come through
