Does anyone know the size of the braided fuel return pipes on the 'L' Series engine?
Garry?? ;)

Are you talking about the little pipes from each injector or the main line back to the tank?
Well if it the pipes from the injectors you are in luck. I had to replace them a couple of years back and came across the left over pipe last week and threw it out but the thought it might come in handy so retrieved it.
It is a special piece of rubber tube that is fabric covered and made specific for the task. I bought it from a diesel specialist and was expensive at $30 a meter.
Measuring it, it has an internal diameter of 3 mm and an external diameter (rubber) is 7mm then it has the woven cover around it.
I have no idea about the main return line to the tank.

Garry... If anyone was going to know, it would be you. :D
Thanks for that as it is indeed the little braided bits between the injectors that I need to replace.
The rubber has started to perish on mine, so I need to replace. I've done a temp fix, as the missus needed to go out in it today but I want to go & get the bits to fix later.

If I remember correctly, like all things on the Freelander, they are a pain to put on. But then the Freelander engine bay is a pleasure to work in compared to the RRS.

Well, with a liberal coating of diesel, it shouldn't be too bad. :D
Mind you, the main coolant hose let go earlier, so I've got something else to replace while the cover is off!

Been there done that too - the new hose was no longer one piece with and now has proper T pieces and clamps - very cheap from Landrover as well. Independents only carried the older hose at a much higher price.

One of the guys I work with also runs a salvage yard, so have just picked up one for a couple of £££. :D
