110 county heating /aircon wiring help wanted

Hi all
I just bought a 110 county v8 as a project car, and am in the process of getting it ready for RWC then swap the reg and then the real fun will begin.
The heater/aircon was in the back, stripped and patched it back together, the fan has two wires coming from it a light grey and a black connected them up to corresponding wires coming from the dash and the fan will only work while the dash switch is switched to fresh air regardless of the position of the fan switch.
Can any one shed some light on the problem and or direct me to a wiring diagram.

check the speed resister block adjacent the engine bay fan unit also

I think that may be where the problem is, there is no Resistor Block]
There is 2 small gauge wires black and black with white trace, coming through the fire wall, black gives 12v with the fan switch on.
My multimeter just died so I can't measure resistance, but I am asuming these go to the resistor block as well as the fan power feeds.
Thinking about using a relay to trigger from the fan switch to the power leads, as i only need a RWC to change the reg and then I will do everything properly.]

Just when you find the topic for the problem you're trying to solve you find a dead thread.....

I can't seem to find any reference to the fresh air/recirc switch in any County wiring diagrams. Does anyone have any hints as to where this goes / how it works ?

The switch in the V8 County I have works on vacuum from the motor. One of the lines come from the engine bay and the others go to the various parts of the dash.

I did have a diagram when I last put it all back together 20 years ago, and next time I would have to do it I would just try work it out until I have it operating correctly. Someone may have the connections for it, or I can see if it is the workshop manual.

Cheers Richard. I just assumed it was and electoral switch due to the feel of it. That makes a bit more sense if it’s vacuum operated. I’ll pull the dash apart and have another hunt.
