Hi All,
My first issue with the new Defender....
This is the second time l have filled it to the top and l am getting a fairly decent leak from the tank. Drivers side. To the point it is very constant as l walked back from paying.
However, doesn't leak more when motor running. And since driving about 5kms - it has stopped leaking now....
Fuel tank breather blocked?
Where to start....???

its most likely going to be
the tank breather line, the expansion bulge breather (if your version of the tank has it) or the pump sealing ring assembly.
But
It can also be a crack in the tank seams if you're in the habit of brimming the tank and have done so when its cold and then the tanks gotten hot without you drawing much fuel off.

I would start at; Check the rubber hose between the tank and the metal filler pipe Do the hose clamps up if needed.

If it's had a fuel pump changed at any time, There is a rubber ring that seals the pump to the tank, if the get's kinked it will leak when brimmed/

Hi all
After giving things a clean - l can see a split in the smaller hose that runs along the top of the main filler hose (breather??)
It has a split in the end closest to the tank.
Pirtek? As l really dont want to order one from LR....if at all possible!

not even pirtek, some auto shops will carry that size hose, it doesnt handle a lot of pressure and just needs to be diesel stable.
