What would you consider as the minimum rating for jack stands for a Disco?
When it comes to this sort of thing I like to over do it. I have a set rated at 4000kgs and another at 2000kg which should be more than enough.
Working it out in my mind I would estimate the disco at 4000kgs, the max load at each corner if equally distributed would be 1000kgs. Allowing a bit of safety margin I would look at 1500kg as minimum rating.

The disco will weigh less than 3000kg as the GVM is less than that, so unless overloaded etc, but I would empty the vehicle before lifting it anyway.
In regards to the actual rating of axle stands, I would go for the highest rated ones you can, I will get a new set of 5000kg rated ones prior to pulling out the suspension to repalce all the bushes.
My reasoning is;
Higher rating
Larger base plate area
More stable
Lift higher

I would buy the biggest you can afford for a few reasons. You will get more lift, larger safety factor and a larger base. You will appreciate the larger base when you are under the car wrestling something heavy or leaning hard on a breaker bar undoing something.
I have some big old truck stands I picked up from a garage sale years ago. They have a large cast base and screw adjustment. They are rated at 7,500 Lb (about 3,400Kg) each, so they keep any of my cars off the ground easily and safely.
