looks quite good.
the uk is good but you have a ok land rover place is melbourne at blackwood or blackburn, they have a good catalog and are easy to order off and are quite reasonable priced but just need to be a bit careful you get the right parts.

4 Wheel Drives in Blackburn have a good range of new and secondhand parts. Land Rover Parts and Accessories (http://www.landrovers.com.au/)
They carry the same aftermarket parts as everyone else (Britpart, Bearmach etc.) but will also source parts from local suppliers. Some rubber parts are suspect (same as other suppliers because they are mostly all made in India).
The alternative is to ship from the UK. Much cheaper (even though shipping can double the UK cost) but you'll often be getting the same quality as 4 Wheel drives supply.
Some UK suppliers list both genuine Land Rover parts and pattern parts.
I've had good service from LR Series and Paddocks. Pegasus have a lot of parts re-manufactured but I experienced a long delay getting parts plus they didn't have credit card facilities. There are lots of other UK suppliers.
Land Rover Parts | Range Rover Spares - Accessories | Paddock (http://www.paddockspares.com/)
L. R. Series - specialists in land rover, land rover series and range rover - gearbox, axle, transmission parts, spares and major units (http://www.lrseries.com/)
Pegasus Parts remanufacture new Land-Rover bulkheads for Series models. (http://www.pegasusparts.co.uk/)
Best of luck,
Colin

You would be surprised how many parts you will still be able to get from your nearest Land Rover dealer. Whether or not they still have the old parts books is a different matter though! :D
Well done on the purchase

Thanks Colin
Thanks for the tip i will check them out. I was thinking of getting chassis from UK apprentlly, it can be imported for $1000 plus whatever chassis cost.
Let see i have plenty of time not rushing into anything

I remember someone on the forum imported a chassis a while back, I'm sure it worked out just over $3K.
How bad is your chassis ? Can it be repaired ? There's lots of threads on here covering chassis repairs. If you have room it might be worth looking out for a 'parts car'. Often vehicles turn up with good chassis'.
Colin
PS: I also use Fred Smith in Bayswater (30 Havelock Road). Tends to be a bit more expensive for s/h parts and if you visit personally you need to allow a couple of hours......

You can get a galvanised chassis from richards chassis Prices (http://www.richardschassis.co.uk/prices.html)
I personally would buy a wreck with a good chassis.

It stood thru 13 years of rain, hail, storm, heatwaves and god knowswhat all!! Waiting for me to be picked up look after it and it only took newdistributer, coil and fuel pump to bring it back to life .
Yes friends it started today were extremely busy with workand had no time with everything else around the house... But i was both surprised and glad how easy wasthat startup!!:)
Motor sounds good NO leaks to original radiator love thecooper … next step overhaul of brake and clutch plus some work towards carbyrestore..

Your find looks so straight and genuine!! Well done!! Wish I had those panels on SWIMBO's Ser 2! How bad is your chassis then?? Get it stripped down and then make decisions re chassis... $1000 goes a long way with chassis repairs! :)

Hi Mate,
Chassisis bit of a disappointment.. Both rear cross member and front bit has seen thru itsage and are bit of a concern.. Decision decision get this fixed ($1000) or get a wholething as new as it can get… Got quoted $3000.00 by Richards chassis i.e. doorto door.
But i guess it's still fair way before i can get to it ..
