has anyone attempted to make their own cooler line pipes with Hose clamps?

As another one of my Rovers is leaking oil for everywhere possible (and some impossible places) my brain just wonders if anyone has tried to remake these oil cooler lines with Hose clamps instead of the Crimps used? I imagine the initial cost would be expensive but surely that would be outweighed by ease of serviceablity later on or will the oil pressures be too high for the Hose clamps to cope?

Not replaced but i did use a couple of brass fittings and clamps to repair my auto cooler lines where they rubbed thru, the pipes dont often fail and usually the hose that splits or leaks from the crimps.
You can take the metal pipes to pirtek and others to have screw on hose fittings added.

you might do it as a patch job to get you home but thats it.

Any mods that I'd had with push on and hose clamps hasnt worked. Multi barbed pressure Pirtek type fittings are the way to go.

My transmission cooler pipes are all home made[cut pipes at gearbox end and slid transmission cooler hose over and clamped with pressure hose clamps from pirtek and not with jubilee style clamps. worked for me for past 2 1/2 years, I have a heat sink cooler mounted on my bullbar and a radiator style cooler between my front intercooler and radiator with twin thermo fans behind.
