I replaced my wiring loom under the rocker cover a few months ago and also the gasket with new original land rover parts.
The rocker cover is now leaking near the back.
I'm planning to take it off and use a sealant as I never used one when I put it on.
What sealant do people recommended for this?

I've heard Loctite make a good sealant but there are so many versions to chose from.
Cheers

You want a sensor safe one. In the loctite range it is the black one. It will b clearly marked on the packaging

The LR part for this task is STC50550 which is a 95g of what is supposedly Loctite 5900. It should be around $25-30 a tube. Some of the UK sellers list Loctite 586 as the OEM alternative. I think this is the same as Loctite Black Maxx?

cheers

Thanks guys. I'll grab some black maxx.

This may be a dumb question but what would you clean the gasket and two surfaces with before using the black maxx?
Metho or is it bad for rubber gaskets?

Went into Repco today and they had grey maxx and gold maxx but no black maxx.
The grey looked like it would do the job but I wasn't sure and so left without buying anything.
What's the difference in grey and black?

Black is darker? But only until they invent something darker!
:D
