before laser eye surgery i used to put contacts every day.
on your left eye, open eyelids open with left hand.
use right hand to hold bottle between thumb and forefinger.
tilt head back, hold bottle about 2cm away from eye, squeeze drops in.
for the right eye, hold eyelids with right hand.

Thanks guys; I tried your method Eevo, half a bottle down the cheek and temple later, I got two drops in the eye. Superquag speaks from experience by the sound of his observation. :D

It takes a while to get used to it.
I found it much easier lying down, because when you look up you start to lose your balance.
It takes a while but you do get used to it.
An odd sensation.

Down a couple of decent bundys first Ian, then your reactions aren't as fast and you can get it in before you blink:D. You still coming this way?

I've done it a few times by just looking in the mirror and holding each eye open as required.
I'm now doing the same thing for the Cook who is what the eye specialist call a "blinker"......that ain't what I call her and it makes it hard when the eye lid keeps fluttering.:D

I find the best for me is to hold open the eye lid with the same side hand, I then tend to drop the drops into the corner of the eye closest to my nose with my head tilted slightly away from centre, seems to work pretty good and you can steady your hand on your nose too. Never had a problem since using this technique, my Doc told me about it and works a treat

Ive always done it laying down with my head tilted back and towards the eye I want to put the drops into.
lets say I want to put drops into the left eye
I turn my head left, I hold the eye open with my left hand and rest the thumb joint of my right hand on my right eye. This positions the bottle right over my left eye and I just look up at the bottle and let the drops fall.

May not be quite as efficient, but can be done with your eyes closed.
While laying flat Aim the bottle at the tear duct (next to your nose) and drop the two drops in with the eye closed, lean away and open your eye and it will usually drain into your tear duct and into the eye.
Works for the kids, then they get 2 drops at once, and can prepare themselves.
