Hi folks
My Son recently replaced his fuel tank on his 1993 turbo diesel Defender.
Unfortunately, the fuel return pipe is leaking at the tank seal.
It is a real pain in the butt to remove the tank again so my question is...
Is there an inspection plate in the body above the tank to get to the pipe?
I need to ask as he has a set of drawers in the rear so, without pulling the drawers out, he can't see if there is or isn't a plate.

Thanks

I did the exactly the same thing. Replaced the tank and it leaks from the return line when I fill up. Solution ; don't fill up to the top. Does your leak all the time?
Tank removal is simple enough but you need fingers like an octopus to get the tank back in. Good luck :D

Had the same problem with the new tank I fitted, I removed the tank again removed the cork seal they provided and just used gasket goo, haven't had a problem since.

To answer your question there is no inspection plate from factory.

Thanks A & J, I think I'll do the same but might cut an inspection opening/ plate in.
