3 long beeps normally means memory problems. If you have multiple sticks of RAM in there, try removing/replacing them one at a time.

Just remember to take the usual precautions with ESD, handling, etc.

Hi Ian,

Disconnect from all power source (basically unplug from all power source) and leave the PC ideal for 30 mins and fire up again This should work as it refreshes CMOS memory . Worse case you might have to open up the cover and lift the small battery on the motherboard and this should resolve the issue..

If this is all good try booting up again at just as it starts up keep pressing F8 key it should then ask .. Do you want start in safe mode?
Select the option of safe mode and proceed?

That's my 2cent worth?

Happy to assist you further.

Please dont listen to the motherboard battery bit. It's not that, and if you are an amateur you could damage things. It is definitely a memory problem.

Either one of the sticks not seated properly or (less likely) a dead stick.

It is VERY important to take static precautions when touching ANYTHING inside the case. Leave the power cord plugged in, but turned off at the wall. This way the PC chassis is earthed. If you dont have wrist strap, grab part of the chassis before handling the memory chips. This should remove any static charge from your body.

Remove each sick in turn - if more than one - then try a restart each time.

Cleaning the stick contacts is great, but do it carefully!

use a soft white style pencil rubber to clean the contacts of the ram... not an ink eraser

make sure you clean off all the left overs and reseat the ram.

like said earlier it should be ram

3 long beeps means you have have been downloading too much porn and the memory is corrupted as a result.

Thanks Guys
Did the rounds trying a few things but it turned out to be just the power supply. Fitted a newbie and voila! God I'm Good.
Cheers Ian
