There's quite a few perenties on the market now but is any particular model better than others - FFR/RFSV etc...

Some information here: Land Rover Perentie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
FFRs have the usual 12v engine/vehicle electrics but also have the extra 4 X 12v batteries and a large 28v alternator to provide radio power. I guess a lot of civ users will disconnect and remove the 24v system in these.
The "RFSV" was a limited production vehicle with a number of useful extras and accessories which made it quite an all-round offroader (probably one of the best). Many of those currently being offered for sale have been very well used in this role. This variant attracts auction bids at the higher end of the scale.
The fact that all the mil 110s have a gal chassis adapted to include under vehicle spare wheel carriage makes them much more useful long-term than a civ production vehicle of the same era.
If you do your research at the auction by looking at the maintenance records you may be able to get a rebuild with limited ks since rebuild on it.

When you say market to mean like ebay, gumtree and carsales?
Just in case you do they are quite expensive.
Buy at auction.
I can only afford a cargo or FFR.
Cargo has a bit more space in the back and a tailgate which I like.
FFR is maybe a bit more interesting and has no tailgate but has more toolbox and lockup space as you can use the box where they kept the radio gear to lock up things as well.
Even though they have galvanised chassis they still get rust in firewall and doors and some of the chassis have been repaired.

Better for what? What you intend to use it for will dictate which will best suit your needs?
Do you need a winch?
Do you want lock up security?
Do you intend to do some rougher 4wding?
Do you want to carry more than 2 people?
