G'day all
What are my options for fiddling with disco suspension if i wanted a lift of maybe 2 inches. Is it just springs and shocks or do you have to get funky with prop shaft angles etc.
Basically i just want to stop potential diff wacks on tracks.
cheers

New sprinds and shocks will get you a two inch lift if you pick the right ones.
Once installed get a good wheel alighment to make sure of it all and then that's it.
Well it was for me anyway's.
Might want some spacers under the rear to, will even it out a bit as Disco's tend to droop towards the back.

Thats the one's.
After my lift the low back end stood out a lot more so I fitted the spacers and it leveled it all nicly.
1 1/2 inch spacer I think I put in.
Also stopped it from bumping the fuel tank as much.

Mick,
maybe I didn't get you right but if you want to protect your diffs you will have to use diff protectors or bigger tyres. Raising your vehicle's suspension does not alter the ground clearance under your diffs.
Happy rovering...

Giving the car a spring lift will not increase diff clearance this can only be done by fitting larger diam tyres.
If you can fit the correct springs to give the lift you want, fitting spacers is a dead lift, no real gains other than increased hight.
Drive shaft angles will be ok with 2 inches. JUST.
Castor will be almost gone.
DONT fit castor correction bushes as these will inhibit supension articulation. Best option is to rotate swivell housings, aprox $200.00 if you remove and refit them yourself.

Michael.

Ive fitted 2 OME spring and shock kits to 2 different series 1 Discos.
Both lifted about 45mm and ride very nice.
