Hi, I,ve been quoted $530.00 to have a Safari snorkel supplied and fitted to our Defender. Just a few questions, is the Safari snorkel well regarded and secondly does the cost to supply and fit sound reasonable.
Perhaps a member of the forum can provide some input.
Thanks, Jim

In my opinion the Safari snorkel is the best way to go. Make sure when they fit it they make all the connections Air/Water tight. See Nugget on here for a kit if they can't. I have the original LR Raised Air Intake. It is not sealed when fitted. The LR one costs about $1000

LR raised air intake is just that a raised air intake and is not a snorkel.

Safari or Mantec are the best ones IMO, supply and install around $500 is normal pricing.

Ebay has cheaper snorkels but quality I could not comment on.

Never had a problem with safari's across three makes of cars. They are as good as anything out there in my opinion.

Hi,
it is doable at home following the instructions that come with the kit.
Only a few small holes to drill - no major panel cutting.

Do use the recommended sikaflex compound for jointing. I used food plastic bags as gloves to apply the goop to the joints, and found by using once and discarding all the time I could keep myself and the working area clean.
