I have seen a lot of threads about vnt turbo but not much about figures of economy and power differences torque and kilowatts .I've heard more reviews about driveabillity but that's it. if any one has any info that would be awesome.

I fitted one to my 97 disco about 2 months ago
my TDI300 goes excellent now, best thing I have ever done to it!
just finished a 4300km return trip to fraser and Morton island
fully loaded and got 10L per 100km on average
but sorry no KW or torque spec's
just better all round.
got it from
AlliSport Land Rover Defender 300 Tdi VNT Turbo Direct Replacement Turbocharger | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AlliSport-Land-Rover-Defender-300-Tdi-VNT-Turbo-Direct-Replacement-Turbocharger-/251189664623)
great freight service to Australia
I also did the first stage intercooler upgrade

What did it cost you all up? Was it pretty straight forward to fit

But that's why you fit a VNT, superior driveability, not for more power.

It cost around 1800 with freight and import costs
It was easy to fit and streight forward
I also blanked off the egr and fitted silicon turdo hoses,
I also removed the middle muffler and put a streight piece of pipe
In its place with on extra noise from the exhaust.
The rest of the exhaust is stock .
When driving and the revs get under 2000 you can
Hear the turbocharger change tune to boost you back up
I am very happy with it.
Now I have a good 2nd hand turdo and intercooler
For sale 😃

here are some photos
the intercooler still fits in the same spot with no mods
the actuator at the top of the turbo is the vane controller not waste gate

Yep the middle part of the manifold comes with it and you just use the two out side bits from the old turbo
I think its starting around 1300 to 1500rpm
thanks for the comment on the photos they were just taken using my htc phone I thought they came out ok too.
on my recent fraser island trip pulling through the soft sand with no problems with the new turbo.
I should upload some vids of the landy towing out Toyotas bogged in the sand :-)

I'm sure you could fit a second turbo for compounds with the same amount of money.
Keep original, fit larger turbo around it. Set to max safe boost and drive. Compounds help low end boost when sized right.

I was only thinking last night on the way home that the Iveco 3l compound turbo's on Serg's HS2.8 would make a cracker of a setup! :D

I Made up a small Video last night and put it on youtube as requested. Fraser Island trip
I did not know the guys in the Prado's just helping them out.
I pulled the white one out then backed him up onto sand boards
and hooked him up to the other Prado, as you can see as soon as he comes off the sand boards he is stuck again until the landy helps out
we are all running 18 psi
then I towed them both to there camp site.

that cost included VVT turbo + intercooler, intercooler hoses and exhaust mods, and gaskets
I have not had any experience with Iveco 3l compound turbo's
sounds interesting I will have do some research

Glad you liked it
I got the disco from ebay about 4 years ago and built it up from ebay parts.
including the rear bar .
I had to do a fair bit of work on it to get it where its now,but its all fun.
here are just some photos of the things I have done
in these photos are:
draw system I got from ebay and just had to modify them to my needs
made up the alloy rack on top of the draws.
rear bar I got sand blasted and modified it for rear led lights and high lift mount and also rear light.
fitted front winch and made up a some bar work.
made some rock sliders .
list goes on and on.....
