My 97 is Metric 27mm as are all I'm sure, except on my 96 which had a tyre shop make an extraordinary mess of the chrome caps (which they deny) and she has her own 28mm socket now.

The wheel stud thread for all D1s, RRC and Defo's is M16. Pretty much anything LR with the bigger 165mm/6.5" PCD runs this thread AFAIK. Socket size is 27mm across the flats. Usually the best (cheapest) source of wheel nuts is wrecks as they are quite expensive to buy new.
Take note of whether you need a square-shouldered nut (alloys) or taper/cone seat nuts (steels and some alloys). Are your wheels steel or alloy? Factory or aftermarket?
If you can be more specific with your question, we can be more specific with our answer :)
Good luck.

I searched around Aus for ages when buying 23 new wheel nuts for my D1 (Alloy Wheels).. ended up buying from UK, worked out from memory about $50.00 cheaper including postage to buy new over second hand and I could not source enough second hand at the time, only took 6 days to arrive.
