Trouble Bleeding 110 Clutch

This is doing my head in

I've bled up Defender clutches no problems at all

I imagine it is because the pipe runs above the master cylinder? So the fluid has to go out and then up above the resevoir level

Can anyone give me any useful hints?

I've fitted a new master cylinder, and the slave cylinder isn't that old. I've pumped and pumped with no luck. If I pull the pipe off the master cylinder and put my finger over the outlet it will pick up and pump no dramas at all. As soon as I hook it back up nothing at all

I tried Justin's trick of extending the resevoir with a short length of hose, still no luck.

Apart from a vacuum bleeder are there any other options?

G day Jock, assuming your slave is ok maybe you could try, you need a large syringe like the type used for animal jabs. Fit this to the slave bleed nipple via the same type of hose you would bleed with. Crack the nipple & try slowly pushing fluid back through the system then try normal bleed procedure.
Obviously you need the syringe to be full with no air & a very firm fit on the nipple. Might work but my experience has always needed a vacuum bleeder.

Pushing back through the system works for me as well, seems to pick the air bubbles up and carry them better when pushing the fluid up hill.

Use the size syringe that the nurses use on patients that upset them. :wasntme:

Splashed out and bought myself a vacuum bleeder this morning

5 minutes and I had a clutch :p
