nissan 2 stroke 3 cylinder diesel, last run in the early 90s. installed in the 70s.

numbers on the block are K 2 0730 3 D 2236

Possibly a Yanmar in disguise ?

worked on an old shibura lawn mower that looked similar-it had a injector pump as part of the block but otherwise is similar.

Drilling mob I was with in the early 70's had UD -Nissan 4WD truck with the 3cyl 2 stroke diesel......sounded great!

GM-Detroit Diesel had a 3 cyl. 2 stroke diesel, known as the 3-71, Regards Frank.

that’s the one, but i can not locate any info, looks like i may have inherited 3 of them

Are you referring to a 3-53? If so, it most certainly is a Detroit diesel. DD's came in cylinder capacities of 53, 71, 92, 110, 149 cubic inches. Then there are the monsters made by GM's EMD operation used in locomotives, power stations, ships, etc.

Nissan had a V5 version of their two stroke diesel in trucks in the 1970's. It had an interesting exhaust note

No, the pictured engine is not a Detroit.
I did a lot of work on various Detroit's during the 70's & 80'.

that is the one, still can not fined any actual info on them, where to get parts if possable, manual specks etc etc
