TDCI brake controller fitting location / options

Questions for the Puma owners.

Currently I have a Tekonsha P3 brake controller on my td5.

It sort of sits between the radio and the dash binnacle and gets in the way of the vent lever but that's ok.

I need to decide on what controller to get for the new one.

I'm not sure I wan't another Tekonsha as the shape of them makes them IMO very hard to fit neatly and I don't want to just randomly screw it to the dash.

I'm sort of thinking about the Hayman Reese remote head one:

With that I could hide the box somewhere and make a neat job of mounting the face plate part.

Has anyone fitted any of the brake controllers in a TDCi and have any pics they could post to help my decision?!

Stick with the Tekonsha P3. Much more balanced braking and easier adjusting than HR

Yep, stayed with the Tekonsha, swapped over from the Disco. Fits fairly neatly & stayed level. Easy to run wires here & can be disconnected & put away if wanted to. Can be a knee strike issue thou if not a little careful.

I went for the Redarc controller - in the pic, 1 is the manual over-ride button, press this while going downhill or if in a sway and get trailer brakes only, no. 2 is the led light - green when you plug in and the connection is good, then red when you are braking, no. 3 is the rotary knob for brake force. This unit worked really well with both my work trailer and our off road van. Its out of the way but easy to reach, a great unit I reckon. Only problem is that panel is where a lot of people put their locker switches. I mounted my locker switches just below and to the right of my steering wheel on a purpose built panel I mounted there, you can just see it in the pic. Pete, I just had my trailer brakes refurbed at Gold Coast Brakes. Neil there was telling me about the new ones that mount in the dash. Give him a call he is very helpful.
