I want to get an EGT/Boost dual gauge like this one:
Automobile Multimeter, Dual Channel [SYL-2813] - $79.95 : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry (http://www.auberins.com/index.php'main_page=product_info&products_id=357)
Now considering I've got a 300TDI, which temp probe, and which sensor for the boost would be appropriate form the following lists?
EGT:
EGT Probes : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry (http://www.auberins.com/index.php'main_page=index&cPath=5_22)
Boost:
Pressure Transducers : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry (http://www.auberins.com/index.php'main_page=index&cPath=5_23)
I intend to fit a bigger intercooler, so want to keep an eye on things as recommended on here.

I went for the EGT probe with the longer tip (gets the probe into the flow of gasses a bit better), and threaded NPT fitter. Weld-in is probably just as good if you can fit it.

I already had an Auber EGT guage, but I bought the probe and compression fitting from Ian at Thermoguard.
He also sells a drilled/tapped plate and gasket to go where the EGR blanking plate is. Makes fitting really easy and means no drilling into the exhaust:)

Can the EGR blanking plate also be used for fitting a EGT sensor on the TD5?
Cheers

Not sure, don't think so though. I think it's specific to the 300Tdi.

As far as I'm aware. The EGR blanking plate is the place for the EGT probe on the 300TDI. I'm still learning all this stuff, so happy to hear advice on all aspects.

Did you get a specific blanking plate with port for the EGT sensor (if so were from?) or did you use the same kind as for a 300tdi or did you drill a blank blank?
Cheers

Ive been running the auber egt gage for a five-ish years now and ordered/fitted there water temp gage in January as it is a straight fit into the original sensor hole[1/8 npt i think] on a 300tdi, this allows the gage to trip the thermo fans in and out at my chosen settings ie in at 100 and off at 96

Does that mean the dash gauge now doesn't work?

My dash gauge was replaced with a vdo with the sender in the water gallery in the top of the head[standard hole blanked with bolt from factory]
