Just wondering if anyone has put a third seat in their Perentie? Either as a bench or a double and a single or just stuck one in the middle in place of the F88 rack.
Before every one screams do a search i have both on AURLO and the general web and haven't found bugger all. If you have done it could you please forward any details, experiences etc and any photos would be awesome. On the other hand if this has been done to death but i couldn't find it please just let me know the link...
Cheers in advance
Tim

Subscribing - I'm pretty sure it can be done for a child seat but not an adult one - keen to find out if anyone has put a third adult seat in the front on any landy 110.

I replaced the stupid useless cubby box in my Defender with a middle seat which folds down to a very comfortable arm rest.

The 2002, 2004 Remediation Defenders the ADF had originally were delivered with centre front seats. How do I know? I bought twenty of the seats at the auctions.

Did they have belts as well Mick?

Not at the auction. They would have been on a different pallet.
I've got three seats in the front of my Stage 1. The centre seat is very similar as the centre seats I bought. It has a lap belt. You'd probably be able to buy them from an auto store.

I had a standard narrow width defender middle seat to fit in between the ISRI seats, but found the space too narrow.

For dingsy's sake, last time I spoke to Land Vehicle Spares they had bought a stack of Defender middle seats from somewhere - probably the same place as Mick. They might still have some if you're interested.

Probably not useful to anyone else in this thread, given Pete's information.

I have mounted the middle seat out of a defender in the middle of my Perentie between the ISRI seats, used the supplied standard lap seat belt, that went into the standard seat belt holes, only had to drill a few holes.
An adult can sit in it, pretty tight, perfect for my 9 year old

Did you manage to get it engineered oowa?

Probably doesn't need to be engineered. The seat belts are in standard seat belt mountings and, if I remember right, the Perenties are complianced for three seats.

Thanks oowa, mate that should do the trick, in my last life the F88 Styer mounts were a godsend not required anymore but a third seat is. Thanks for the photo.

No I didn't , my thoughts are that if I ever get it engineered for towing anything greater than 1200kg I'd get it done then..

The seatbelt mounts are pre-existing but I seem to recall some discussion over the fact that they are a shared anchor, ie, 1 anchor/ 2 belts and therefor unacceptable.
The 4x4 soft tops are all complianced for 2 only, most 6x6 are 3 seaters except for late Bushmaster builds. The only variation (of course) are the SC and Carryall wagons.

Thanks for the clarification. Mine (a 6x6) is complianced for three.

I looked at this for my Perentie as I have 2x spare standard 110 County middle seats & the reason they don't fit is that the Isri seats are shifted inboard approx. 20mm. In my Perentie, the original bolt holes are unplugged. The fact is - in Vic at least- Vicroads won't allow registration for 3 seats unless they are engineered. I spent about an hour on the phone with them & went right to the engineering top of the tree. The guy there said if they are original seats & anchor points, it should be a cheap certificate, so I always have that option. I kind of like the seats moved inboard a bit. It is noticeable from my County, I wouldn't consider doing it on the sly, if I had an accident it could cost me $$$ & perhaps jail time.

Made it myself and had an upholster mate cover it.

The middle seat does indeed have it's own designated factory seat belt mounts, I am very happy with how the 3 seats fit.

Most Counties had a centre console with a third front seat being optional. They came with lap belts, not the best idea.
