Any ideas if there are any blind stainless wheel nuts that would fit in place of the originals? I think mine have been over tightened a good few times and I may as well replace them with something tidier, if I can.

Know any friendly machinists? But they are the same as range rover so would suspect yes

I had some nuts made for another car I have some time ago. A fellow nearby who runs a small engineering shop got some hex stock the required size and machined them up.

Hmmm, I have this little lathe, The total stock won't pass through but chunks would sit in the chuck. The sons girlfriends dad sells tooling. If I can borrow the tap then I think I may as well make them myself.80337

Blind nuts solve the seizure problem which is why we use them on big powerboat trailers. I've got 36 on one trailer and never had a problem spinning them off by hand, once there cracked.

Fair call. Just not sure of the insurance logistics of stainless nuts. :)

Range Rovers/Discos/Defenders don't have stainless nuts.
What they have is steel nuts with a stainless cover.

blind nuts may ease the binding problem by stopping entry of grit etc but they certainly can't solve it as the problem is the nature of stainless steel itself. galling will always be some sort of issue.
keep them lubed and it isnt an issue but .....

I use standard nuts , they've never given any trouble. When working on the wheels at home i give the studs a quick spray with lano tech, (kiwi after shave), :), made from the oil in sheeps wool. I used to use copper coat once , it was fine but lano tech is cleaner on my hands  It's hard to justify straying from OEM. In terms of safety, cost and serviceability. :)
