Hi all. Installed a Safari Snorkel on the D3 yesterday, and in reassembling the intake tract I forgot to connect the plug to the MAF. Drove a short distance this morning, found the problem, reconnected it etc. The question is though, how long does it take for the light to disappear, or is it a hard code that requires clearing with a Nanocom or similar? I haven't upgraded my Nanocom and bought the cable yet...

Hopefully its just one of the faults that requires a particular number of error-free starts before it wil be cleared rather than a totally-unrelated fault eg EGR.

What about a hard reset ;)

Thanks Graeme, after about 6 restarts over a couple of hours the light disappeared.

Last time I had the "Check Engine" light come on in a car, I lifted the bonnet & made sure the engine was still there.

What I don't understand is, where is the light to tell you the "check engine" light isnt working???

All the lights are supposed to come on at initial start so you can see they're working.

Trouble with the Disco is there are so many damn lights you don't have enough time to check them all.

The wife's D3 (S) is also a pain with the service warning light. Unless you are watching carefully you miss it entirely. Its not obvious, and is shown for a very short time while all the warning lights are on for you to check they're working.

You'd think with all the electronics they'd be able to tell you a warning light has failed, hell my series 2a had a warning light for rear brake light failure (although the Army might have fitted that...)
