Has anyone put their FFR battery compartments to custom use after ripping out the batteries?
If so, what have you done or what ideas have you had to turn it into a more practical space?

The Wolfs use that area as Jerry can storage - not sure if the aperture is large enough on the Perenties though. It is certainly a secure spot to store liquids if it would work.

RFSVs and related have a dust and water-sealed porn documents box in the driver's side.
I would one day like to do similar but to keep my fuel and stove.

They store mud really well. No mods required.
:(
If you ever need to replace the seals, "number 47" at Clark Rubber is perfect. Just under 2m (180cm -ish) per battery door.
Around $12 /m.
Doesn't stop the mud. Just the rattling.

I bolted a tool box onto the slide out tray, but you need to face it back to front to be able to open the lid fully, otherwise it hits the antenna mount
cheers

The battery and radio stuff is out because it's mostly a tow vehicle to pull my boat to the beach. I like the idea of storage but at the same time I can't see myself doing a massive 4x4 trip anytime soon coz I always seem to be spending money on keeping my boat in the water.
For example, on Friday I had a outboard service. On the way home I blew a bearing on the highway. Life's a beach!!!
I figure a lighter vehicle should take longer to wreck the brakes.

If you haven't already and you never intend to use. It pull and sell the alternator and all the harnes along with the distribution box.

I plan to install a fixed freezer. It will open using the flap. Batteries to be mounted in allie boxes where the jerry can holders are.

Dave's idea of an extra fuel tank sounds like the way to go.
Thanks.
Phil.

Let me get this straight, your going to remove an existing aux battery setup only to instal another one late but in a different location that will take more work and wiring?
