WA Government departments lose mobiles, laptops worth $484,000 (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-08-17/wa-government-departments-lose-mobiles-laptops-worth-484k/5676752)
Taxpayer-funded laptops and mobile phones valued at $484,000 were either stolen or lost from West Australian Government departments in the last financial year.
I can bet that some of the WA regional hospitals would love to have that money.

Well, WA was the last convict settlement in Australia. Their descendants still are in parliament, the police, and much of the business community.

If you reckon THAT's expensive, then take a look at how much taxpayer money is used to subsidise the ridiculously high cost of power in WA!
Have a look at this interesting article...

As opposed to NSW - where there seems to be a steady procession of politicians of both persuasions marching out of Parliament and straight in the front door of the CCC or whatever they call it over there.
Is it true that the latese rego plates over there are emblazoned with the logo - "NSW - State of Corruption". :p
But yes - that amount of money in "lost" computers and phones should be raising some eyebrows. Seems to fit in with many people's perception of the public service - no accountability and care factor zero.

Didn't Colin Barnett complain that WA taxpayers money was going to prop up unviable Tasmania?

Maybe all our missing laptops and iPhones are going there too ........ :o
Can someone drop in to Chucaro's place and see if he's got a new computer with a "WA Inc" sticker on the back of it somewhere. :p

We over here in the East have never heard of the term "WA Inc.". ( WA Inc - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WA_Inc))
Lets face it they're politicians, they hold similar public confidence to used car salesmen, real estate agents and prostitutes (although I have met a few prostitutes whom I would hold in higher regard over some politicians!)

We used to call the Sandies the evenly balanced Australians, a chip on each shoulder.
Diana, you missed police informers, provosts, and prison warders as the occupations held in lowest esteem. I will concede the land sharks are the bottom of the heap.
