What is the biggest tyre that can be fitted on a Defender?
Assumptions:
- Drivetrain will be upgraded using standard KAM and Ashcroft bits
- I'm not worrying about clearance issues due to wheel arches: they'll be cut and arches fitted
In other words: biggest tyre before the turning circle becomes just silly or before something structural breaks? What about axle tube bracing, radius and trailing arms and their mountings, etc etc? Steering links and arms?

Lovely stuff. What was done to strengthen axles etc? Swivel pins? Axle tubes? Draglink? TREs?

I doubt that there's any land rover running gear in that beast.
I'm tipping it has full patrol running gear.
I want one!

That makes sense and is more believable than 44s on Rover axles...........

3.9 V8 with a ZF auto / LT230. Yes, the front and rear diffs are Hilux - no lockers, this is the former 'Lockless" , preventing wheel spin with an ABS type system, allowing for half decent steering without lockers, with heaps of other mods - hydraulic steering, VN fuel pump, ............ (not mine but Andrew's vehicle)
Was being converted to 4 wheel steer, worked 4.6, ............ and then a family came along:o:o:o so the Mog diffs and 44 stickies were sold on.
