Discovery 3 Double DIN

Hi all,

So I'm thinking ahead and looking into converting my head unit to a generic Double DIN. Just wondering what the options are out there for head units. I've currently got the base spec single CD player and radio combo. Nothing fancy. Looking at one with Bluetooth and aux input for audio and visual (ie reversing camera).

Also, if I got a steering wheel with the speaker controls on would it be possible to wire across or piggy back to a head unit.

Hi Ben,
You can buy the stereo control panel for steering wheel - cheapest to order from UK. You then need to get a steering wheel adapter - like one from PAC - to suit whatever model stereo you decide on.

To convert to double din, you need: facia, harness adapter, Fakra-din antenna adapter and reverse camera/cable to suit.

Here's a couple of the Sony DVD install in my D3. I also installed an amp under the driver's seat and upgraded the speakers... a Vifa PL18 mid-bass and a Seas tweeter, with a custom crossover. Way better sound than any other D3 I'd heard.
