It is very rare for Melbourne to get hail that will damage a car.

The only damage it does around here is the fruit.

Not short memory,usually anything bad is classed as once in a hundred years, QLD it's a regular occurance;)
It's all to do with the weather system, QLD is subjected to tropical lows, this causes extreme weather patterns. We rarely get Golf ball or tennis ball size hail. The rain is like a monsoon or Cyclonic.
