Curious to know how many wires others have put through the firewall grommet?
Yesterday I pulled:
1 x 6B&S for traxide
1 twin sheathed 12B&S to run a permanent live fusebox
1 x 12B&S red to use for CTEK charge bunker mount
1 x traxide white switch lead
4 x 2 pair control cables
Was quite a struggle getting them through I can tell you.

Hi Will and not a bad accomplishment.
If you need to get any more wires and/or cables into the cab from the engine bay, there is another, slightly smaller hole in the auxiliary battery compartment.
The second hole will accommodate up to two 6B&S cables and the hole is located up behind the accelerator pedal.
It is hard to find and is really only accessible in D3s and early D4 models.

Thanks Tim, I worked on the principle of pulling everything I thought I would ever need, then adding 2 extra 2 pair control wires. If I need more I'll chase that grommet, might use it for CB antenna so that it's not beside power feeds.

Does anyone know if there is any access on the passenger side. I fitted a traxide kit a couple of years ago and don't fancy tackling that one again. Would have been a good idea to have done it all in one go as the OP did. I need to fit a UHF aerial.

Incase you misread Tims post, there is a smaller hole near where you ran your Traxide gear;)

The rule of thumb for getting wires thru holes, conduits, etc. is ..." you can always get one more" ha,ha.
