Hello,
I suppose the question has been asked a trillion times:
What is the easiest way and from whom should I approach to purchase a proven reputable device for reading ~ removal of all error codes on a Disco 3.
I have seen the Blackbox sites for the Faultmate MSV Nano and the Faultmate FCR but the prices are pretty heavy. I am looking for contacts please. Are there alternative brands with the same functionality. After recent experience with a clapped transmission module I would like to have an interface in my kit onboard when we head around the block with caravan in tow .:o
cheers
Don

I have a hawkeye from bearmach which I bought direct from the UK thru ebay.uk.

I am unsure whether its better/worse than any of the others but it lets me see live data and read/clear the codes which is all I wanted. I have seen mention of other scan tools but the Faultmate and the Hawkeye are the 2 that I hear mentioned most.

The exchange rate wont do you any favours at present but personally I believe a code reader to be the first tool you should have for any late model car.

Good Luck with it.

Cheers Ean

IID Tool from GAP Diagnostic IIDTool for Land Rover - GAP Diagnostic (http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool.html), easy to use and does just about everything you could need from a scan tool (calibrate suspension, set tight tolerance etc)
