4x4 gear stick

Hi guys I just recently got a 4x4 cargo perentie from frontline machinery and the 4wd geer stick knob is missing.
Could someone help me out on where 4wd is and if anyone could tell me where to find one.

Hi Landymancan,
To engage 4WD, you use the plunger switch on the dash just forward of the main gear stick, marked as 'cross country'. This can be used in high or low range, whenever traction is likely to be imperfect (gravel/mud/rocks/snow etc). A warning light on the dash will blaze starkly at you when engaged.
To engage low range, the stubby lever is pushed forward, there isn't much travel in it but there is a neutral position in the middle. Make sure you are stationary when changing range until you are familiar with the vehicle and its nuances.

Specifically, the Perentie is a constant 4x4 with selectable Centre diff lock.
It is the same system used in older Range Rovers. Still reliable. Note that you can still be stuck with wheels spinnning, it is just a little harder to do.
IF you are confused by the lack of gear stick, it seems you need a perentie crash course in understanding what you have laid your hard earned cash on.

The Perentie is full time four wheel drive, so there is no four wheel drive as such - just high-neutral-low.

Can't help with where to find a knob - if the same as the civilian ones, and even if not, then one of the Melbourne Landrover specialists should be able to help. Give Fred Smith Automotive a call is one.

So probably a lot safer on Wet roads and dirt country roads;) than say a Hilux or Triton..

OK, Just re-read the OP. It is the knob for the high / low range stick you need?
