Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself, i'm Rob and i have just bought a 2003 l322 4.4 Vogue in Grey, K's are high but they are mainly country K's and I think I got it at a good price (260000km -$14,000). Previous owner has it serviced at an approved Land Rover garage over in Perth and i have copies of all invoices/work carried out there. I had to have it shipped from Perth to Adelaide and it's currently sat at a train station in Adelaide as i can't pick it up until it gets to the transport companies depo :(

Below is all work carried out in the last couple of years (minus scheduled services etc) is there anything else that people can think of that I should inspect once it arrives?

Thanks

You can see why the previous owner got sick of paying for repairs but he seems to have sold it after fixing nearly everything, which seems a bit stupid unless there is something major that you don't know about. I would get the coolant checked for hydro carbons in case the head gaskets have gone, with possibly a couple of overheating episodes in the mix, looking at some of the repairs.

No mention of timing chain guides which are a known problem so maybe worthwhile having replaced or at least inspected.
There is a recent thread on this.
Great that the transmission was replaced.
Looks to be a good buy.

Had the RAA inspect it (INC pressure tests) I think they check for exhaust gasses in the coolant too so hopefully I should be OK. Previous owner is loaded and has just bought a 2014 TDV8 so he had a genuine reason for sale.

That seems like a great buy for the money. At 260K on the clock I would expect a few things to have got tired and need replacing. The previous owner seems to have kept on top of the maintenance hence keeping the car reliable.

Welcome to the forum too Rob. It needs more Rangie drivers in order to keep those pesky Defender drivers at bay;):D.

Not the greatest pics as the previous owner is in his late 70's but i will get more once I have it...

OK so i've just driven it back from Adelaide (5 Hrs to Mount Gambier) and it's amazing, never missed a beat and so comfortable!! Trip computer must be wrong i think though as it claims 11.9l/100km and i have 374k's left til empty. It was mainly cruising at 110 and it used just over half a tank so i'm stoked either way. One thing I did notice is that i cant get the radio working - the time and date was a few days out too so not sure if it's something to do with the battery (previous owner said it was working before it was put on the train) Any ideas??

Cheers
