D3 19" onto MY14 D4 [Archive] - Australian Land Rover Owners

Does anybody know for sure if a D3 19" wheel fits on the front of a MY14 3.0lt D4??? Are the off-sets the same????
I do recal reading somewhere that they may only fit the rear axle,had a search,cant find the info.
Brian has split his set,considering one for a second spare to mount on the camper trailer.

It was the LR OEM 18" that was talked about.It will fit a D4 3.0l rear axle only.

As for the 19" i am not 100% sure,but if it is LR, OEM,i recon you will be OK.:)

I am sure others will chime in:)

If I dont get a definitive answer by thursday I will ask the dealer,booked in for the first service.

I only have a D3 but I thought 19" would fit but not 18" on the front unless they are the customs like Gordon's etc.
The standard 18" fit the rears ok though.

Hello LandyAndy,

I have the same wheel as a second space for my D4 MY11 SDV6 SE.
I have it mounted to the rear of the caravan.
I must admit that I have never actually fitted the wheel to one of the front wheels.

When I investigated and asked around about the size, I was told it would be all good. The wheels you are looking at are originally from a D3 HSE V8 (6 Spoke) which had the larger brake package.

Attached are a couple of photo's of the wheels I purchased with one of the photo's showing the details of the wheel from the rear.

I am currently away for work but I am happy to fit one to the front to be sure if you would like.

The other day in Bunnings carpark in Kalgoorlie, I saw a D4 SDV6 HSE with four of these rims fitted. I spoke with the owner of the vehicle, as I did not think you could fit D3 rims to a D4 with the 3 litre V6, but he told me that they were off a D3 and he had no trouble with them fitting front or rear.

He had just returned from a trip out bush, and said that he bought these so that he could run 18" A/T's when touring, and then change back to 19" H/T's on his original D4 19" rims when he was home.

Should have taken a photo, but didn't think of it at the time. I noticed it as soon as he pulled in to the carpark, as I had always been told that you couldn't run D3 18" rims on this model D4 - :cool:

Brian, I am confused. Were the d3 rims 18" or 19"?? Was the d4 a 3.0l?

I didn't check the tyres myself, but the owner said that they were 18" (his original D4 rims are 19").

Definitely a 3 litre - was a HSE and had SDV6 badge on the tailgate.

Confused the hell out of me too. As I said, should have taken a couple of photos. ;)

Was a local vehicle, so I'll keep my eye out for it around town. If I see it again, I'll take a couple of pics (and check the wheel diameter / tyre size myself).

The rims that are in the photo are a D3 19" rim.
(6 Spoke are a 19" Rim only & From the V8 HSE) (5 Spoke are an 18" Rim only & From the Diesel 2.7TDV6 SE)
I had the same set on my D4. I know mine is a 2.7 but they WILL fit a 3.0.

I know as a friend tried them onto his D4 & then purchased them from me.

Same offset & all. They are also the spare on the LS sports fitted with 20's as the spare is a 19.

The ones I saw on a D4 the other day are quite possibly also 19", though I'm sure the owner said they were 18's. I actually commented to him that I understood that D3 18 inch rims wouldn't fit on a 3 litre D4 - he replied that he had no problems with them fitting. :confused:

Will definitely have to keep an eye out for it around town and investigate further. ;)

I have added some info to my original post because i don't think i was clear enough:(
19" rim 6 Spoke is from a D3 V8 HSE (as per photo).
18" rim 5 Spoke is from a D3 TDV6 SE.

The rims look similar at first glance, as they are large flat spoked.
But are significantly different on closer inspection. 18" v 19".

There is no way an 18" rim (Factory) will fit onto a 3Ltr Disco 4.
(Unless your Graeme & you change the front brake caliber set).:wasntme:
