Can't help you with clock but search the forum as there's a few threads on the issue. How about some pics of your install?

it seems that from everything I have read, both here and the UK site, if you change out the base model stereo for a non genuine unit the clock is lost.
I had to change the park globe on mine and you have to pull out the whole light assembly , easy enough till 1 of the plastic clips decides it wants to brake .... hasn't happened yet , but , heat from the engine bay means it will only be a matter of time me thinks.

As far as the clock goes, yes if you change out the standard radio, then no clock, since it is run from the radio. No big deal eventually you won't even notice it is missing. And you'll have a much better radio.
As far as the battery goes, is it only the keys that won't lock /unlock remotely? Have you tried using the central locking buttons on the dash?
Cheers

Yep that's it mike just the keys won't lock the vehicle and the dash lock works fine if I pull one key apart and put it back together it works for a while it must be something electronic any thoughts someone else has proberly had the issue
