How can I disable the door chimes when the door is open and the key on accessories setting ( listening to the radio ).
This relates to a 2008 d3
I know somebody knows, please share.

You can try the D4 feature, turn the vehicle/ignition off, then press the power button on the wireless. On the D4 it will give you 10 mins or so of music before shutting down, less if it needs to go into power save mode.
It may work on a D3.

Thanks Andrew for that suggestion, but does not appear to be applicable to the D3

Does the radio not play without the key in the slot and the ignition on?
In our Freelander 2 you can turn the radio on without the key in at all & no ignition, just press the knob and it plays...

You are correct, I found out today while having a play that indeed I can play the radio without the key in the ignition.
I don't know if it will time out but won't be a problem as I will just turn it back on
I would still like to know if I can disable the chimes still
Thanks

Can't answer for your vehicle but I went and checked the work car (current model 2012 Aurion) and it chimes with the key set to ACC and the door open.
Perhaps is it a requirement these days?

I can play the radio on my D3 without the key in the ignition - just press the "on" button on the radio and on it comes. As LandyAndy states it will turn off after a set period of time - just press the "on" button again. It will lock out when the battery voltage falls to a pre-set level and the display will tell you so.
Handy for the drive-in cinema so you can listen to the radio without the dashboard lit up like the bridge of the starship Enterprise - but sadly that was a dream because there aren't any drive-ins out my way any longer - Matti

My old man has a Ford Ranger, it has a traditional key ignition, and also did the annoying beeps if you opened the door with the key in.
Turns out there is a microswitch in the ignition to detect the key, we unplugged it and the beeps stopped, but everything else worked fine.
I doubt it will be so simple with a Land Rover though...

Ah now, this is interesting...
Yesterday I was working on a Jaguar XF and there was an option in the CCF of "key-in warning chimes" and it could be selected as enable/disable.
Might be the same function available in the Disco. But it may not be possible to change with a Nanocom, only SDD...

I thought it was actually an ADR,must chime with key in ignition, engine off, and drivers door open.

Just had a look at BlackBox Genesis and there is a setting in the CCF for "Key in Audible Warning in Instrument Pack" which is set to disabled for 100% of vehicles. Can't test it on my D4, keyless.

It was enabled on the Jag XF and stopped chiming when disabled.
Be interesting to see what the actual setting is in an Australian delivered D3, read from the vehicle not the as-built file.

I've only recently purchased a Nanocom so I could be wrong :p but I think that whilst there may not be a menu option explicitly you could change the CCF save it to the Nanocom and upload it via the Nanocom to the car.
Just a thought.

Thses CCF's are a common format across what was the JLR range and possibly others. It's possible to change that setting but if the vehicle doesn't read the value it won't have any impact. Same thing can happen within a model run when there is a change in ECU or SBL (programming).

Thanks to all for your input
I had hoped there might have been a mechanical fix, as although I have a Nanocom unit I don't have the confidence to play with the CCF.
Computers And me don't always see things the same way.
