Is it normal, and it seems to be only after pussy footing in traffic for a long time, on full throttle and only high revs, chugs out a fair amount of blue smoke?? After its "cleaned out" or "red line serviced", I dont have the problem until I have been sitting in traffic for a while.

Sounds like the common issue of oil pooling in the turbo. This is normally fixed if mentioned while under warranty by installing a drain. Yours may not have been done.

How full is the oil on the dash check???
If overfilled any motor will burn the extra it cant deal with,ie too much oil splashing where it shouldnt.

Kind of what I was thinking, possibly in the second turbo? and doesnt get blown out as much????
So this seems to be common?
Is the drain available to buy as a kit from LR or can something be manufactured?

Hi,
My first D4 had a DPF .... so no smoke at all.
My MY13 definitely does pump smoke under acceleration .... especially from idle. Most guys I know with D4s report the same ....
Have you sat behind a Nissan or Toyota, etc?
So what is normal and what isn't?
Is the smoke definitely blue?

Hi,
Had the same peroblem on my D4 MY12. Took it to dealer who said they had a revised drain hose for this problem. Problem all fixed.
Cheers.
