Looks like an asian gecko. An introduced pest which breed like flies. Get rid of it or you will have heaps around shortly.

skink appears to be the common, yet incorrect name for them.
it could be asian or i could be Bynoe's Gecko (Heteronia bynoei)

I would rather have the Gecko than cockroaches and spiders. I love reptiles, and hate spiders with a passion.

Picture isn't clear enough but it could be a marbled gecko, common throughout southern Vic and SA.

Asian House Gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) not recorded previously recorded for SA unlikely it is that little pest. Marbled Gecko is far more likely.

Yeah ive seen heaps up in Mackay when I was there in 06. My sis said they even "bark". I was astounded at that. I was wondering what the noise was continually going off outside my motel room at night. Lots of flying insects for them to eat there. Amazing little creatures. Cute too.
Cheers Rod.
P.s. hes not here now its daytime. Snoopy was watching him last night, crawling on the ceiling, prob with murderous intent I think.

You want to hope it's not an Asian or "Goodbye" Marbled Gecko. :(
I have the Velvet Gecko & some Asian but any Asian seen are soon despatched, quickly & cleanly. They will eat the small native gecko hatchlings.
Our gecko here may have bitten off more than he could chew:)

In in the far north we have heaps of both Asian and native. For a couple of years now (not sure how long they live?) there has been a quite healthy Asian gecko around with what looks like warts or lumps all over it. I will try and get a picture tonight.

Picked up this little fella while camped at Arkapena in the Flinders, looks like it could be similar to this guy.

Geckos are amazing. Lots up at our daughters place in Arnhem Land, every evening they hang around lights and on the windows so they can catch moths and such. They are almost transparent.
We get them out at our place at Elong Elong...leaf tailed geckos..very dark in colour with white spots. Usually hiding under rocks or in logs etc. their tails are quite large and diamond shaped. Cute little critters...don't get any around our home in Western Sydney though.
