Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has done this? I want to re-locate the UHF aerial from bulbar to the roof rack or somewhere else so it doesn't feature front and centre all the time in otherwise great goPro footage. Planning on using a foldable bracket for when not in use, but how/where to run the cable is the challenge. Any thoughts/photos appreciated.

I would`nt personaly seen enough broken aerials broken in this manner ;)
Have you thought of a mount off the spare wheel carrier or i have seen some mount aerials above tail lights off the body panels (carefull flimsy) or off the rear chassis .
In saying this it all depends how you use your radio and what for as most aerials need a ground plain to work properly for any sort of distance .You can can get aerials which are not ground plain dependant ;)
So i think a bit of research is needed on your behalf;)

Thanks for this Chris, yes aware of the breakage risk; looking at the spare wheel carrier option too. Research is the name of the game!

Hi
Hope this maybe what you are looking for.
I have two, 6dB and 2 dB. The long whip is 6dB 102548and already lost one in thick bush tracks after the screw became loose. But I found this to easily bend and recover. If you lose it they are only $20.

I did it. Bought an adjustable mount for about $50 from memory. Screwed it to gutter behind snorkel. Ran the aerial cable down the snorkel into engine bay, across firewall and down under to come up under front passenger seat. Mounted radio next to driver's seat and connected it up. Works fine and is not obvious. Easy to raise aerial from driver's seat by reaching out window.
Images here. Mine is on the top right.

You can also get bull bar mounts for the go-pro's. With a blue-tooth module and remote, you can turn it on/off remotely..
