Hi Guys, After seeing a thread just recently I decided to give my MAP sensor a clean. When I removed it from the electronic throttle body it was completely blocked. The hole it came out of was full of gunk so used a vacuum cleaner while I scratched away the gunk. Next came the sensor which cleaned up quite well my09 sensor has a 6mm hole so a lot bigger hole than in the earlier ones. I fitted the cleaned sensor and started the vehicle. A whole series of faults showed up including turbo transmission with a F in the instrument display connected the Nanocom cleared the faults but they wont go away. Unable to drive the vehicle as it has limited gears available. Seems to be a problem with the MAP sensor. Phoned up to get one from a dealership hope you are sitting down $720.00 . Does anyone know where I can get one a bit cheaper. The Boss is not very happy at the moment.

Surely the person who quoted that price must on drugs , or has made a big mistake in looking up the part .

I rang the guy twice at Macarthur landrover as I thought he had made a mistake with which part I wanted but came back with the same result he told me to check ebay and other avenues as he told me it was over the top. Rimmer in UK $121Aud for genuine Land Rover we must have excessive taxes for it to be $720 in Australia

A few years ago I got one from the UK in about 4 days for my 3.0 (same as later 2.7) to get it faster than going through the warranty exercise, which I eventually did but without the inconvenience.

Or he quoted including the housing assembly it sits in perhaps? Check with roverlord as well (vendor on here). Mario got me a couple of spare sensors recently for good value.

Price was only for the sensor. My MAP sensor has nearly a 6 mm opening where all the others have a nipple with a small opening are all the D3 map sensors the same. I Have a LR part no from Rimmer in the Uk will have to check if its the same for my09 on Monday from the Dealers before or give Mario a ring. Thanks heaps guys for your feedback

Emailed Mario from Roverlord he came in the best price had a nice chat but had to act early as the car was sitting on the driveway going nowhere the bosses work car during the week so called Scott at TRspares at Padstow where he got one in for me by 3pm $275 not cheap. Mario was $239 plus $11 postage so not much different. Better than the dealer price of $720. All smiles now. A rather expensive excercise

I just cleaned mine the other day as it was getting a bit sluggish. It was again coked up from EGR. I use MAF spray cleaner from the local Repco or Super Cheap with NO poking or prodding.
I am waiting with bated breath for the 3.0 EGR bypass promised this year.

I got my Emulators a while ago but didnt work on my vehicle seems there are 14 different variants of egr on the D3 and only one that measures pressure that will be mine so Gallie is in the process of sorting it out at the moment so hope they come soon. Just spoke to the boss after driving to work this morning with the new map sensor fitted she tells me the car runs quiter and has more power with better take off from start so a good outcome. Shows what an unblocked MAP sensor can do.

Does any one know if my 2007 RRS tdv6 engine has a DPFE as well as a MAP sensor .
When i checked my MAP sensor it was completely blocked up and did not seem to create any problems as far I knew at the time , engine appeared to run the same after it was cleaned .
Was wondering how vital the map sensor is the ecu .
