Why don't my mirrors dip down in reverse?
The manual suggests they should.
Llams shows settings correct.
Am I dreaming they should?
Cheers

You have to set them up how you want them. From memory (it's been a while:p) you have the engine running, put the car in reverse and then manually, using the buttons adjust them to how you want them. Next time you put the car into reverse they should dip to the position you set them at.

On a D3 it's in the SETTINGS on the message centre of the dash.
Push the i button on the indicator stalk to activate.
I actually don't have mine dip as I prefer to look at what I am about to run over rather than watch it come out from under the wheels :p

Same here - I'm glad my mirrors don't dip in reverse. ;)
A couple of loan cars I've had from the dealers recently (Evoque and Disco Sport) both had dipping mirrors - I didn't like it at all. I suppose it might be different though if you also had a reversing camera and were in the habit of looking at the screen to see what is behind you - before you see it come out from under your wheels in the mirrors. :p

Llams shows settings correct.
I am confused about how Llams fits into this function?

Good pick up Scott.
Its the IID Tool. Too much technology.
I was able to activate mirrors dipping.

Isn't it a trim level specific option?
You may not have the control units to drive the function.

Agree with others that it's a function that doesn't appeal after experiencing it in a loaner Evoque.
Sometimes gadgetry is there for no reason other than to confuse and mystify some, and bedazzle others.

Hi,
I dip the mirrors with the toggle switch to back up the drive at home. Pity it is only a Corolla.
The Defender mirrors give a good view and won't adjust any way.

FWIW I really like the function. I have set it up so I can see the rear wheels and bumper. I mostly use the rear view camera. If you increase reversing speed the mirrors will raise back to normal position and dip again when speed is slowed again.

I also like the function - sometimes. It is great for backing the boat trailer into the water to watch the wheel position and depth, but a pest backing up our steep driveway. Can't have everything I suppose, but you can have a Land Rover

I like the function, I had it in a previous car.
Still no joy.
I'll have to ask the dealer.

If you have this option available you can access it from the Vehicle Set up menu shown in the instrument panel by pushing the right button on the steering wheel. Activating a function shown via a IIDTool or similar will not work if the option is not fitted.

I had a similar issue with drive away locking (my wife feels a lot safer with it) where it would not enable with the in dash menu - would self clear within a few seconds every time we tried to enable it, until it the CCF was changed to enable drive away locking. Then we just had to set it in the dash menu and it worked.

Ok
Therefore I don't have it as an option as it doesn't show up on menu.

I believe you need memory seats to have reverse dipping mirrors. It's one of the things I miss from the D4.

Do you mean in the 'Vehicle Settings' of the Instrument Panel menu?
D4 manual doesn't mention it as a spec level requirement. D3 does say 'Vehicles with driver's seat memory...'.

My wife's previous XC70 had them and they were a PITA for parallel parking cos there was a delay in returning once back in a forward gear.
