A great talent.

The porridge series was pure brilliance, there isnt an episode that doesnt have you in stitches.

One thing from the two Ronnies that i do remember is when he goes to the bar to order drinks for everyone and has a drink every time. He keeps forgetting the order so has to go back several times, by the end he is plastered, the order just gets funnier and funnier. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Dont forget John Cleese. There have been some funny British sitcoms but no one particular comedian that really stands out, not like they did way back then. You are right, they dont make them like they used to. matt

Yes, a brilliant comedian who was descibed by Sir Laurence Olivier as one of the world's great character actors. I have a couple of DVD's of Open All Hours which are timeless British humour. He will still be making people laugh for years to come.

We have it at home on tape. I love it. I was trying to explain it to the apprentices at KLR Auto the other dsay. They'd never heard of most of the comedians in that programme. But some of the older blokes there were laughing their heads off when they remembered it.

Another goodie seen each New Year on SBS is Freddie Frinton in Dinner for One.

See http://www.guardian.co.uk/germany/article/...,866820,00.html (http://www.guardian.co.uk/germany/article/0,2763,866820,00.html) for a pix and a synopsis of the programme.

Seriously though, i can do that. But how do you quote two different people in the same post, like what you did in your last post? Matt

VladTepes
11th October 2005, 11:19 AM
do the first one as normal.

Then go and copy the text you want to quote to your clipboard (ie ctrl-c) and then paste it into the post you are drafting. Then hilight it and press the 'quote' button which surrounds it with quote marks.

Then in the first [ quote ] things put ="persons name" as such

[ quote="Ace" ]

Go on try it now.
