Yeah.... the LC 7th!!! It seems that the journo's are finally seeing the flawed front end etc as a prob..... the fact hat it broke a front diff in the trial really would have helped too style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Yawn, like that wasnt predicable, its just to good, it is now the most awarded 4wd in history, it has won over 50 awards world wide. Land Rover are just to damn good. Matt style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Yes, I can't agree more. Those who have been lucky enough to see one off-road can see that they are a excepionally impressive unit.

I knew that the new Disco would be a good, but I was sceptical at first mainly due to the indie suspension. Once we seen it in the 'real' world and not taking the jurnos word for it, the cross valved suspension and the torsen diffs front, rear and center they do tackle off-road terrain with considerable ease.

It's such a shame it's so bloody dear, LR would sell a lot more if a bit cheaper, but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Maybe the days of the Toyota 'bribery' to the 4WD publications are well and truly gone. read the 4WD monthly article with intrest and the evaluation was totally un-biased to a degree which is a dead set rarity in Aussie 4WD publications.

Haven't picked up a copy of 4WD monthly yet.

So where did the Ford Territory come ?? Most claim that's something "amazing" for what I see as a lifted falcon.

Dont you love it, i bet it would be a different story if Toyota actually designed a new Land Cruiser instead of changing stuff on the one they have. Matt

I rarely go on Overlander anymore.
It's getting so you can't make a comment even vaguely mentioning Landies without some idiot deciding he has to step up and personally denigrate both your choice of vehicle, and you as a person because of it.

Having said that, there are a few decent fellas over there.

Vehicles:

Land Rover

daylight

Jeep

daylight

more daylight

everything else

Go the Landies :!: :!: :!:

I go on Overlander every now and then but most are a bunch of whimps really. They talk big with there skyscraper liftted 'Jap scrap' vehicles though. Someone I know did a Overlander forum trip and they were all afraid to scratch there vehicles, how pathetic

At least us Landie owners will have a go at anything most times, but we are a bit more social and not trying to outdo each other (always good to watch some goose trying to out-do his Patrol/'Cruiser mates though).

I went otu twith the guys from 4WD monthly some time back. I found them quite a decent bunch. Not trying to outdo each other, helping one another out, I was the only LR driver there and didn't cop any crap from them at all. On the contrary some of them said a lot of good things about my driving and LRs in general.

I have found the 4wd monthly forum to be alot more civilised than the OL forum. Was what they said positive or negative Sean? Matt

Pretty much all positive.
There were a couple of other stock vehicles there, and they stopped before Rosemary, so I guess they couldn't bag her out too much
They're not a bunch of idiots, they know what their vehicles are capable of of and don't try to push any one else beyond what they want to do.
The day out was well orgonised with a variety of terrain, for the guys with big lifts and big wheels to the guys in the stockers.

Thats what you need, there isnt any point going on a weekend like that if you are going to have to put up with Anti Land Rover crap. Matt
